Weathering the Storm We are now in a different world than what we started with this year. All the original plans have now been altered to deal with the Coronavirus global situation and we are all doing our best to adapt to the monthly, weekly and daily information updates we are all absorbing. One thing that SCORE has always been adept at is the ability to be flexible and try to make the best moves to achieve the end goal of a successful and safe race environment. At this time, after consulting with SCORE teams, sponsors and Mexican government officials, SCORE has made two schedule changes as the Coronavirus situation has continued to expand and all our “social distancing” measures are now a standard requirement for society, and for our case, on both sides of the border. What we have discovered, however, is that there is a lot of catch-up time for many projects underway, getting ready for when this bad situation finally runs its course. To provide a source of project information in this issue, we offer a major focus on the UTV classes. As one of the fastest growing classes in the SCORE World Desert Championship series, with now six classes available, the UTV market is not only part of SCORE from a competition perspective, but is now firmly entrenched as part of all team and fan off-road lifestyle activities. To improve the many areas that UTVs are used for, we have developed a huge list of aftermarket performance products that can update the performance and comfort for each individual’s needs. From a tech perspective, the SCORE Journal editorial staff has created a great information update on a major component of off-road motorsports and general usage, the “heat factor” on vehicle performance. Learn from industry experts on major products that can make this area more manageable. As of this moment, SCORE wishes all of you a safe and healthy time period until we can all see each other again at the races! Jim
