I AM THE USPB PILING ‘EM HIGH. Rob Davis Farms takes pride in producing high-quality food for consumers with sustainable production methods. continued from page 14 as a Finance Administrative Committee member. For 2009/2010, he served on the International Marketing Administrative Committee. For growers who have had little or no interaction with the USPB, Davis says, “Whether you are a fresh, process, chip- stock or seed grower, the USPB does a good job making sure each segment is fairly represented. At times it’s difficult to make everyone happy, but the strength of the industry lies in open communication and working together for the interest of all regions and production sectors.” Representing the rising generation of industry leaders, Davis brings an excitement and proactive attitude. And it’s amazing to note the opportunities in this industry are abundant enough for even new growers to strike out and forge ahead with their ideas and abilities. His optimism is certain to improve conditions and circumstances for his associates. In years to come, it will be interesting to note how far this star will rise. PG HERE IT COMES. An empty 10-wheeler appears at the crest of a hill in a field to fill up with a new load of potatoes. Rob Davis grows Rangers and Umatillas as well as Burbanks. 16 Potato Grower | JULY 2010
