The Quiet Professionals Racing at the SCORE level draws the top Desert Racers in the world. This level involves extreme dedication and focus and the ability to tackle the hardships and challenges that make SCORE desert racing a global “must-do”. Winning or not, depends on how great each team member executes their areas of responsibilities and one of the major unsung heroes of these efforts is the navigator position that involves many critical “other-seat” duties. We get the behind the scene to look at the demands and activities from these “quiet professionals” as they describe what their duties are to the success of their team’s efforts. SCORE Historian and Media Operations Director, Dominic Clark, reached out to a number of SCORE teams to share what they have been doing during this “non- race” time period and discovered their future goals and plans for the rest of this year. The story offers great feedback with a definite desire to get back to racing! As we continue to adjust to our “new normal” life activities, the 2020 SCORE World Desert Championship race plan has been revised to meet the current requirements in conducting public events in the U.S. and Mexico. The current plan has the 2020 season now starting with the 52nd BFGoodrich SCORE Baja 500, Presented by 4 Wheel Parts during the week of July 14-19, the 34th San Felipe 250 now happening September 23-27, and the season finale, the 53rd BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts, remains with the November 16-21 original scheduled race dates.
