FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS June + July 2020 s p e c i a l a d v e r t i s i n g s e c t i o n Cape Ann's Marina Resort Fancy an escape to the water? A fishing excursion? Need a boat, engine, trailer, or parts? Jonesing for a delicious dinner and cocktail with a side of live music? You'll find it all at Cape Ann's Marina Resort, located in the heart of Gloucester on the Annisquam River. It's home to a 31-room hotel, restaurant, bars, indoor pool, 265-slip marina, full-service boat and storage yard, service and sales, fuel dock, event space, and more. Wake up on your boat or in your hotel room and enjoy the view. Charter a boat, catch a giant bluefin tuna, enjoy a delicious freshly caught meal, or dig into a grass-fed steak or burger at Mile Marker One Waterfront Restaurant. From specialty cocktails, like the house "Painkiller" or enjoy a bottle a wine around the fire pits. There are always ice-cold beer selections to make your outside dining experience feel like you are on vacation. Who knows, maybe you'll even spot the stars and boats of National Geographic's hit TV series, Wicked Tuna! And if you haven't come for breakfast, year-round too, you need to try the epic french toast and, of course, the Bloody Marys are great, too. Family- owned and operated since 1971, Cape Ann's Marina Resort has grown incredibly since the visionary Andy Dominick and his wife bought a piece of land on the Annisquam River among the salt marsh just inside the Blynman drawbridge that leads to Gloucester Harbor. Today Andy's son, Drew, and daughter, Tobin, continue to build on their vision. Committed to everything they do from their latest Mile Marker One dining room and bar renovation this past winter, adding a fresh new vibe and feel (open year-round) to the future raw bar on the Bridge Deck and expanded outside dining and events. The boat storage and sales of new outboard engines (Yamaha & Suzuki), accessories, and more keeps the marine services department very busy. They are currently pursuing permitting for further development, hoping to add indoor heated boat storage, a big demand among boaters, so stay tuned. The Dominicks were born on the Annisquam River with a strong belief in safe boating, keeping the waters clean, supporting local fishermen, farms, musicians, and sourcing with small businesses to offer a true salty lifestyle and great experience for all. You might even see Drew on his lobster boat during early mornings before coming to work, catching the fish that'll be served later that day at Mile Marker One. It's a true passion that balances the business life, too. A must visit by boat or car, for a meal, for an overnight or for the season; everything you need is onsite.
