from the Big Ten. Courtney's all-conference selection continues a streak of six consecutive seasons where at least one Boilermaker has been rewarded. She is the first Boiler first baseman to be honored since Heidi Foster in 2003. Courtney was also named all-conference by College Sports Madness. The web site named her a firstteam selection in the infield while sophomore Lindsey Rains was also a first-team selection in the outfield. Outfielder Andie Varsho was named second team while head coach Kim Maher was named Big Ten Coach-ofthe-Year by the web site. Women's golf headed to NCAAs The women's golf team is headed back to the NCAA Championships this week coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional. The NCAA Championships will take place this Tuesday through Thursday in Franklin, Tenn. The Boilers posted a second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships this spring, headlined by junior Laura Gonzalez-Escallon's medalist performance. It was the second time in her three years at Purdue that Gonzalez-Escallon captured the individual title at the conference championship. Gonzalez-Escallon was named Big Ten Player-of-the-Year, first-team All-Big Ten and the Mary Fossum Award winner for lowest scoring average in the conference. It is the third consecutive year that Gonzalez-Escallon was named first-team all-conference, and she was joined this year by teammate Paula Reto on the first team. The 29th-ranked Boilers look to once again peak at the right time. Last season, Purdue finished second at the NCAA Championships after winning the national title in 2010. Men's golf closes at Regional The men's golf team had its season come to a close at the NCAA Regional this past weekend. Purdue finished in 10th place at +23 in the 13-team Ann Arbor Regional. Southern California won the Regional with a three-round score of seven under par. Purdue finished fifth in this year's Big Ten Championship, led by sophomore Adam Schenk's eighth-place individual finish.
