COOKING WITH CLASS: No Southern Christmas would be complete without putting a little South in your mouth, and Chef Darin won't disappoint! He can arrange everything from a Designer Deviled Egg Derby to a praline-making or holiday cookie mini class. Each class lasts about an hour and makes a great addition to a culinary-focused experience. ILLUMINATION NIGHT: For a truly unique and Southern experience, take your group to the outlying Dunham Farms plantation, the largest remaining land grant from King George still held by its original family in the state. You group will begin the evening with a cocktail hour and holiday jazz. Afterwards they'll stroll the grounds or take wagon tours. At twilight each guest will be given a candle before gathering on the Riverside Lawn for caroling and lighting of the enormous Christmas tree. From there, revelers will be led through an avenue of lighted trees to the river, where their candles, representing holiday hopes and dreams, will be set free on the water to illuminate the night and begin the holiday season. It's a magical experience they'll talk about for years to come! ROLLING ON THE RIVER: For a special evening on the Savannah River, Savannah Riverboat Cruises offers several exciting events including Monday night Gospel Dinner Cruises, participation in Savannah's Lighted Boat Parade, and a special Christmas Eve Cruise with Santa. DAY 3 TASTE OF THE TOWN: Sample delicious local foods with one of several leisurely- paced culinary walking tours. You'll not only be treated to sit-down service at some of Savannah's best-loved restaurants, you'll learn more of our history along the way. SHOP SAVANNAH: City Market, River Street, and Broughton Street: all offer unique shopping in local businesses as well as the national brands you've come to love. Your group will find treasures of every kind in the stores throughout the Historic District, many tucked away on the beautiful side streets that wind through the city. NIGHT DELIGHTS: Savannah's trolley companies offer special tours in the evenings. Your groups will have the chance to see the city decorated as it would have been in the 1800s, with glistening trees in mansion windows and wreaths made from local greenery. A CHRISTMAS TRADITION: The Savannah Theatre's holiday show, "A Christmas Tradition," brings you glitz and glitter with a two-hour performance. The theater is transformed into a perfect holiday picture, sharing memories with the Christmas standards you know and love.
