Ensenada and SCORE sign official agreement to host BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE BaJa 1000, Nov. 17-22 SCORE International and the City of Ensenada (Baja California, Mexico) signed an agreement that Ensenada will host the BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE Baja 1000, presented by 4 Wheel Parts, this November 17-22 as a single-loop race starting and finishing in Ensenada. The agreement was led by Baja California Governor Jaime Bonilla and Senator Gerardo Novelo along with Mayor Armando Ayala, the Ensenada City Council, as well as officials of Ensenada’s Hotel Association, the Tourism Marketing Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Restaurants and the Economic Development Council. “The SCORE Baja 1000 will be part of the economic reactivation of Ensenada and will take place under the strict guidelines of the Baja California State Secretary of Health,” said Mayor Ayala. “This is tremendous for everyone involved with SCORE, the city of Ensenada, the State of Baja California along with all of the many fans of SCORE around the world,” said Jose A. Grijalva, President/Race Director of SCORE International. “This is not an easy time for any of us and the cooperation of the Mexican government has allowed us to move forward with this important agreement. This event will take place as scheduled under the health guidelines of a BioSecurity Protocol. We will live stream on social media and the SCORE website all of Contingency, and race-day action including finish-line interviews. SCORE will encourage fans to take advantage of the streaming platforms available, and enjoy the race while continuing to observe all of the health protocols required at this time.” SCORE Announces Its 2021 Season Innovating and creating more new opportunities, Mexico’s Baja California peninsula will host the official four-race schedule for the 2021 SCORE World Desert Championship released today by SCORE. Featuring all four races in Baja California, Mexico for the sixth time in the storied history of the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Series, the events will all be taped to air domestically as well as being syndicated internationally. The 2021 season-opener will be held in San Felipe. Two others will be held exclusively in Baja California and the season-finale will start in Baja California and finish in La Paz, Baja California Sur. SCORE anticipates the announcement of the start and finish locations of two of the races and the start for the season-finale to be announced within the next few weeks. SCORE Fan Recovers From COVID-19 And Gets A Celebration Hector Reynoso from San Diego, Ca contracted the COVID-19 virus and spent 30-days in ICU. After 30-days he was released and sent back home to a drive-by celebration by family, friends, SCORE Fans and the San Diego PD. SCORE International provided shirts, hats and 50th Anniversary SCORE Baja 500 and Baja 1000 “Racing Into History” books for Reynoso. “I want to thank everybody and those who prayed for me. But more than anything God who made it possible for me to be here today. To the nurses and doctors in the ICU that looked after me, I want to thank them. I’m here getting stronger. I guess I will be back in Baja soon I’m sure,” said Reynoso. “I didn’t expect everyone to show up but this says a lot about the Baja community. Thank you to Roger and Elise Norman for the gifts and bless all of you.” SCORE San Felipe 250 After being postponed in 2020 because of the pandemic, the 2021 SCORE World Desert Championship season-opener for the ninth straight season will be the 34th SCORE San Felipe 250, to be held February 9-14 on the Sea of Cortez side of Mexico’s majestic Baja California peninsula. It will start and finish in San Felipe for the 33rd time. SCORE Baja 400 After being postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic this year, the 2nd SCORE Baja 400, the newest event on the SCORE World Desert Championship schedule, will be held Sept. 21-26, 2021 in Baja California. It will be the second year for the event and the second time that it has been held in Baja California. SCORE Baja 500 and SCORE Baja 1000 Recognized around the globe as two of the very top motorsports extravaganzas in the world SCORE will be adding to their legacies again in 2021. The BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE Baja 500, presented by 4 Wheel Parts, will be held April 14-18, 2021 in Baja California  and the season-ending BFGoodrich Tires 54th SCORE Baja 1000, presented by 4Wheel Parts, the Granddaddy of all Desert Races will be held Nov. 20-Dec. 4, 2021. The 2021 SCORE Baja 1000 will start in Baja California and finish in La Paz, Baja California Sur for the 22nd time.
