technology XRS integrates with Bolt, Drivewyze X RS Corp., a provider of mobile fleet optimization software, announced the integration of Xata Turnpike with Bolt fleet management and trucking dispatch systems, with future integration planned for the company's new XRS mobile fleet management platform. XRS also announced a co-marketing agreement with Drivewyze to offer its PreClear weigh station bypass service to XRS customers, who will be able to use the bypass service at an exclusive discount. Using Xata Turnpike's GPS data, Bolt can detect site arrival and departure events and update loads in dispatch without manual intervention, saving time for both drivers and dispatchers and improving data accuracy, the companies said. The integrated system also displays critical information – remaining driver hours, stop arrivals and load completions – and controls all dispatch activities from one screen. It also allows dispatchers to get more accurate and timely information from shippers so they can close out orders and initiate billing without waiting for manual updates or driver paperwork. "In an increasingly connected world, the transportation industry benefits from shared technology and information," said Jay Coughlan, XRS chairman and chief executive officer. "Integrating with a widely-used system like Bolt will improve workflow and enhance datasharing for both XRS and Bolt customers, with the primary goal of saving customers time and money." Drivewyze PreClear provides local and long-haul carriers with weigh station and inspection site bypass opportunities at both fixed weigh stations and roadside mobile inspection sites. Drivewyze PreClear adds transponderlike functionality to tablets, smartphones and select electronic logging devices and connects to the Drivewyze service network via a single account regardless of where a driver travels. "With Drivewyze, we believe our customers will see an immediate cost savings and better overall time management," said Rob Pallante, XRS director of business development. Using Xata Turnpike's GPS data, Bolt can detect site arrival and departure events and update loads in dispatch without manual intervention. The integrated system also displays remaining driver hours, stop arrivals and load completions.
