10 Sugar Producer NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2020 New Products The Latest and Greatest from the Sugarbeet Industry Amity 2720 Harvester The new 2720 sugarbeet harvester from Amity offers several improvements and new features to make sugarbeet harvest more efficient. The 12-row harvester utilizes a 31 percent higher volume scrub tower and Amity's Dynamic Chain Management to allow harvesting capacity of more that 45 tons beets at 5 miles per hour. In addition to scrub elevator capacity, Dynamic Chain Management helps to extend the life of scrub chains. The new harvester also offers new transport options of 900/60R32 tires or a 30-by-67-inch track system. The optional active depth control has also been updated with a dramatically new interface for easier operation, and is now ISOBUS compatible to help reduce the number of screens in the tractor cab. Newly designed side doors on the 2720 also give easier access to maintenance points and adjustments, making it quicker to get back to harvest. Newly designed rotors and lubed-for-life gear trough reduce power consumption for high tractor fuel efficiency. The sides of the main gear trough are constructed from 5/16-inch-thick steel for outstanding structural rigidity. Forged-steel, treated gears have a convex shape to transmit all the drive forces at the center of the upper bearings.
