Longtime CEO and AgroLiquid founder Troy Bancroft will transition to a more strategic role as president of the AgroLiquid board of directors. "Nick has demonstrated exceptional leadership and management abilities as vice president for the past 10 years," Troy Bancroft says. "He brings the vision and insight needed to lead AgroLiquid into the future." "I look forward to leading AgroLiquid and driving performance forward," says Nick Bancroft. UPL Wins Agrow Award As the world's population grows larger and resources become scarcer, innovation and sustainable agriculture are now more important than ever. UPL received a distinguished Agrow Award in the category of Best Company From an Emerging Region during the 14th annual IHS Markit Crop Science & Awards ceremony held virtually from London on Nov. 4.This prestigious award recognizes UPL as the company that has made the greatest contribution to the crop protection industry with headquarters outside of North America, Western Europe and Japan. The Agrow Awards are the premier global competition that honors top advancements in agriculture and best- in-class scientific, technological and leadership initiatives that showcase the future of the industry. Submissions are evaluated using a wide range of criteria by an independent judging panel consisting of global industry experts. Vive Leadership Team Poised for Future Growth As the world's population grows Vive Crop Protection announces that David Rummel has joined the leadership team as vice president of business development, and existing leadership team member Jeffrey Buchholz has been promoted to general counsel. Rummel will be responsible for developing key partnerships with other agrochemical and biological manufacturers to increase the availability of Vive Crop Protection's patented Allosperse technology in the U.S. and global marketplaces. He will also be responsible for in-licensing new chemical and biological active ingredients that Vive will add to its existing branded product portfolio. Buchholz joined Vive Crop Protection in 2013 and became part of the Vive leadership team in 2017 as senior counsel. With his promotion to general counsel, he will lead all compliance, regulatory and legal functions at Vive. Consumers Urge Artificial Sweetener Labeling Reform The Sugar Association's Citizen Petition to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has garnered the support of more than 1,500 consumers across the U.S. The Campaign for Sweetener Transparency (CST) is an initiative of the Sugar Association in support of the FDA Petition it filed in June seeking comprehensive reform of the labeling of sugar substitutes in foods and beverages. The petition calls for changes that will result in full transparency and an end to confusing and misleading sweetener information on food packages. The use of artificial and other low- and no-calorie sweeteners in foods and beverages has increased more than 300 percent in the past five years. These ingredients can now be found in many everyday products consumers don't expect. But it can be difficult to figure out if these ingredients are in products because the FDA only requires food companies to list the chemical names on food labels. AGCO Names Parker- Smith Director of Global Sustainability AGCO introduces Louisa Parker-Smith as its director of global sustainability, a newly created position that will oversee the company's sustainability and environmental initiatives. Parker-Smith, who joined AGCO in 2012 as manager of institutional funding and stakeholder relations, moves into her new role after serving as the global human resources business partner for several of AGCO's business operations. With Parker-Smith's new appointment, AGCO is underscoring its commit- ment to making sustainability a business priority while providing armers the tools they need to meet the challenge of feeding a growing population using fewer natural resources.
