Started by John Olson in his living room in 1980, OL+ quickly gained a reputation for delivering a high-quality product. John Olson began designing for the hospitality industry, working on national and international hotel projects. Soon after, Randy Lewis joined the office and developed an expertise in biotech and life sciences. These two market sectors remain important parts of the firm's portfolio. John and Randy established the firm's reputation, while also creating a unique office culture. Located in beautiful Manchester-by-the-Sea, they assembled a group of talented employees who share in thet firm's successes. Together they all work to create Beautiful Places as a reflection of the delightful Northshore environment in which they work. Over the years, the firm has added other areas of expertise while always maintaining the high standards established by John Olson. Art Dioli & Chris Doktor soon became partners in the firm. Art helped established the OL+ reputation as one of the best residential-architecture firms, creating unique and timeless homes for clients and their families. Chris developed relationships with local and regional independent schools and established the firm's expertise in educational projects. The four market sectors, residential, educational, hospitality, and life science, remain the cornerstones of the office's work today. With 40 years of experience, the firm knows how to complete a project successfully. The client and builder are always a respected part of the OL+ process, and the team strives to give new clients who have not yet worked with an architect the knowledge they need to make decisions best for their unique project circumstances. As OL+ continues past its 40 years and into the future, they continue to grow in number and reputation. With the semi-retirement of John Olson and the addition of their newest partner John Harden, the firm maintains its commitment to high quality work for their clients and continues to be a positive presence in the local community by creating Beautiful Places.
