The mixed load of 10 different varieties will be utilized in trials conducted by Cuba's Ministry of Agriculture. This trial process must be completed prior to commercial shipments of U.S. seed potatoes occurring. Concurrent to the trial shipment, USDA and the Ministry of Agriculture signed a market access protocol for U.S. seed potatoes to enter Cuba. The details of the shipping requirements will be posted to the USDA APHIS PCIT export database and available on the Global Trade Regulations Database. Potatoes USA initiated efforts to establish a market for U.S. seed potatoes in Cuba six years ago with a visit by industry members and experts. Potatoes USA received approval to utilize USDA Market Access Program funds in Cuba for the July 2020 to June 2021 marketing year. to create an agriculture network that feeds sustainable growth for all. Reinke Product Earns National Awards ESAC, Reinke Manufacturing's electronic swing arm corner technology, has won both an AE50 award from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and the Irrigation Association New Product People's Choice Award for agriculture irrigation. Reinke introduced ESAC to growers in the U.S. and Canada in early 2020. The AE50 Awards celebrate product innovations in the area of agriculture, food and biological systems. Only 50 products are recognized each year; those ranked highest in innovation, significant engineering advancement and impact on the markets they serve. The Irrigation Association's New Product Awards are determined during the annual Irrigation Show & Education Week. A total of 31 new products and technologies were entered in five categories, evaluated on innovation, design quality, increased water/resource-use efficiency, ease of use and product life expectancy.
