USICERINKS.COM JANUARY.FEBRUARY.2021 / 19 and youth hockey. All this growth is hap- pening before Seattle's first NHL game. But while the Kraken still have a season to go before hitting the ice, the franchise has already been in contact with the local hockey scene, including Sno-King. "We talk to (the Kraken) quite often," Rodgers said. "It's almost every week. They've been great to talk to and build a partnership with." As the Seattle hockey scene grows, so too will the Snoqualmie facility and its tenants. They aim to draw in a variety of new customers. "We're also hoping to lure in some dif- ferent people into our facility," Huscroft said. "Maybe it's a high-end team, more academic opportunities and maybe some junior teams. It's much more than just an ice rink." The excitement for ice sports in the northwest appears to be on the rise and won't be stopping anytime soon. With three facilities, Sno-King believes this excitement could soon lead to a fourth. "We figure post-COVID that we can fill these rinks up with the help of the NHL," Huscroft said. "It won't take long for us to fill this up. We could be at capacity in three years from now looking for more ice. We are just expecting huge growth." J WE'RE ALSO HOPING TO LURE IN SOME DIFFERENT PEOPLE INTO OUR FACILITY. MAYBE IT'S A HIGH-END TEAM, MORE ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES AND MAYBE SOME JUNIOR TEAMS. IT'S MUCH MORE THAN JUST AN ICE RINK.
