SAFETY Remains Priority #1! Safety is always a priority within SCORE. In this issue of SCORE Journal, we present our annual focus on the latest in the equipment that can keep all SCORE participants safer, and to provide more awareness of this very important part of race prep for the upcoming season. In addition to the product overview focusing on the apparel and neck restraint categories, we also have input from industry experts such as long-time safety innovator, Robbie Pierce along with Impact’s Ben O’Conner, OMP/ Bell Helmet’s Kyle Kietzman, Racequip’s Roger Mealy, Fluidlogic’s product innovator, Ed Jaeger, Liquidaider’s Matt Steele and UPR’s Jeff Furrier from the retail perspective on buyer perceptions. These insights provide in-depth observations in this critical equipment and hydration area. They provided additional insight in making sure that many safety items that are on your check list are updated, maintained, and reviewed before each race. The 2020 SCORE World Desert Championship season AWARDS recognitions continue as the final stage of the 2020 season. This issue’s feature section and videos will celebrate these top teams and SCORE’s “Person of the Year” that we were not able to feature last issue due to their ”voted for status” and the champions for their extra effort performances to earn these hard-fought top spots. The extra twist this year remained the fact that we could not all meet to celebrate in the grand fashion as we have at the San Diego Air & Space Museum for the past few years, but we were able to recognize and celebrate these accomplishments with a fantastic video produced to capture all the extra efforts made by the top teams, sponsors and special VIPs that made this historical season actual take place.
