REGGAE.. house INDIE.. 10 Year Of Hackney @ The Dolphin June 1st Swindle 'Long Live The Jazz' launch @ Fire Akala @ XOYO June 3rd Mt. Wolf @ Union Chapel June 7th After their sold out headline show at XOYO in February the beautiful Mt. Wolf are showing their faces at Union Chapel on June 7th to flourish the crowd and show off under the candlelit intimacy of the venue. Coming off of their October release "Life Sized Ghosts", the Londonbased four piece are set to showcase some warming sound along with some beautiful melody. One of the most talked about bands of last year, this year is set to be another big one for them. Support on the night comes Changing the face of egocentric, 'guns bitches n bling' hip hop, or at least giving it his best damn shot, is North London-born Akala. Little brother to Ms Dynamite, this rapper and poet dabbled in grime before cleaning up his image and becoming the intelligent, witty artist he is today. Akala is a regular at the UK festival set, and supported legends Nas and Damian Marley on their Distant Relatives tour. This June he graces the hippest venue in Shoreditch, XOYO, to promote his new album, The Thieves Banquet. Swindle releases his new record 'Long Live The Jazz' on the 14th June with his first ever live show. Fire assures us it will be a night to remember. 'It will be a full live band; brass, keys, drums, strings and of course Swindle on the keys!' This will be the young producer's fifth record released with Butterz, the label he now shares with Elijah, Skilliam and the rest, who will be performing alongside him. Also getting his hands dirty is Bristol-bred drum and bass legend Roni Size, YOUR HOROSCOPE Hackney is the spot right now. Is'nt it? Well here is a new one for ya. Get ready as Hackney's favourite pub The Dolphin celebrates 10 amazing years of mayhem and Jagerbombs! Famous for their iconic art deco interior, decked out beer garden and late night licence this is the perfect spot for a good old knees up! Kicking the night off with the 'Dodgy Disco Fancy Dress Karaoke' from 7pm the party celebrations will continue until 4.30am with an eclectic mix of music from DJs Stan in the Future, Episodes and a secret guest DJ. Urban Nerds Ones 2 Watch Live Presents: Jacking Bass @ Basing House June 22nd Urban Nerds bring us a brand new event concept, focused on showcasing the freshest artists cutting their teeth and making waves in their respective scenes. The first in the Ones 2 Watch event series sees them team up with resident DJ, Marcus Nasty and his Jacking Bass night to bring us some serious beats as well as a whole load of garage and bass music. Fat Freddy's Drop @ Village Underground June 26th The unique fusion of jazz, deep dub and skanking roots reggae has gained Fat Freddy's Drop serious kudos on the reggae scene, with headline spots at festivals such as Outlook last year. The seven-piece head to London for new album Blackbird's release show, which will feature sweet soul vocals, a resident DJ and a bit of old world jazz charm.
