HOUSE / TECHNO 26 www.guestlist.net ARTIST OF the month: Disclosure Issue 51 / 2013 EVENT pREVIEW: Solomun @ Battersea Power Station Disclosure premier new single You and Me ahead of debut album release in June The success of White Noise and Latch is only the beginning for the brothers from Surrey. It's been a massive year for Guy and Howard Lawrence, the brothers who make up the super successful duo Disclosure. The pair have gone from relative obscurity this time last year, to making number 2 in the official UK charts with White Noise; and now to top it off they will be releasing their debut album, Settle, on the 3rd June. It will be released on PMR Records, the label behind the success of Julio Bashmore and Jessie Ware. They debuted a new single from the album on Annie Mac's April 19th show: a garage-influenced track called You and Me featuring Eliza Dolittle. In the interview they said they were shocked at the success of White Noise with Alunageorge – it was designed to bridge the gap between Latch and You and Me. The echo-ey soulful vocals of Eliza paired with a two-step garage beat sound a million miles away from what you might usually expect from the singer – and it works. The single is reminiscent of their material from before they hit the UK chart big time – tracks such as Control with Ria Ritchie and the remix of Please Don't Turn Me On for Artful Dodger. Nevertheless it still uses the characteristic, catchy synths that have come to be synonymous with the futuristic Disclosure sound. It looks like this is still only the beginning of Disclosure's success. Get ready for a once in a lifetime opportunity to party inside the Battersea Power Station with one of the most respected underground producers.
