Born in North London as Conrad Louis Brooks, Hammock moved to Tanzania at three years old. It was from there on that Louis spent the rest of his life moving between Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, London, and then back to Tanzania. Starting out in 2011, 18-Year-Old Conrad Brooks started to put his own spin on the beats of MF Doom, Madlib, Knxwledge, and one of Guestlist's previous recommendations 'Burnstein'. With this eclectic taste, and obvious hunger for the game - Louis started going places. It was at that time that Louis also began to explore into the Tanzanian hip hop scene, hanging out with local MC's and beginning to understand a market that is more dedicated to the 'as real as it gets' style of the 90s ."The first American rappers to perform out here were the Lost Boys, and I think shortly after Naughty by Nature came down, so I suppose that's what a lot of people looked at here as 'real' shit". His first record 'Deluxe' was a collaborative effort between himself and his longtime friend Burnstein. The mixtape combined traditional but sometimes off the wall rap lyrics with dreamy, electronic hip hop beats."When I made this tape, I really chose such a variety of different shit that was on offer to me to go over, not only is there quite a diverse range of sounds available but unlike before where I just showed I could rap, I think now I'm just getting onto that level where I'm trying to show that I can't be fucked with! That's it really." Louis Hammock is set to release 'HAMMOCK' late May. Check out his sites here: facebook.com/LouisHammock lifegrandeur.tumblr.com waneneentertainment.com OUR PLAYLIST...
