ALL DONATIONS TO THE TEVA FOUNDATION ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE! FUNDS ARE DIVIDED AMONG SIX CATEGORIES: Disast Relief Scholarships Student Act ities Equitarian Project EDCC We strive to assist the Veterinary Emergency Team out of Texas A&M University, in their response to equine related disaster relief nationwide. We also work in coordination with local veterinary points of contact in natural disaster situations and have provided aid to communities in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Guatemala. We offer scholarships to veterinary students to further their education and gain experience in equine focused areas. We currently have endowed scholarships available through the veterinary schools at Texas A&M University, Oklahoma State University and Louisiana State University. We host student trips throughout the year that help students meet our member practitioners. Our goal is to build a network for these students and our members in order to offer support to veterinarians as they begin to develop their career path and beyond. We donate a set amount, annually to the Texas equitarian project, hosted by Dr. Rob Franklin. This program hosts bi-annual equitarian project trips to South America. With a growing effort focusing on new countries, there is a lot of room for growth on these projects. Equine Disease Communications Center (EDCC) is an effort of AAEP: We donate annually to the EDCC. We have found it to be a great educational tool for our community and believe that supporting it is to support the overall welfare of the equine community. Mi ion Statement The TEVA Foundations is the charitable arm of the Texas Equine Veterinary Association (TEVA) founded in 2017 as a 501(c)3. The TEVA Foundation was established to support benevolence in the equine industry and equine welfare, geared towards regions served by the TEVA membership. We accomplish this through research, education and outreach. 2021 Foundation Board of Directors The General Fund Every equine veterinarian has patients that seem like members of the practice family. Some are quirky, some have funny habits, and some are just lovable. When those ponies reach the end of their days, whether due to illness, injury, or just old age, it is a sad event for those that have taken care of them - sometimes since birth. You have the opportunity to Honor them with a donation in their name, by donating to the General Fund. General Fund money is allocated at the discretion of the Board of Directors, to one of the above five areas. Fundraising The primary source of fundraising for the TEVA Foundation comes from the two-part Auction at the Summer CE Symposium. Money raised through the sale of items in both the Silent Auction and Live Auction, goes directly to the Foundation.
