10 POTATO GROWER | MAY 2021 New Products Dosatron D40MZ Series Injectors The Dosatron D40MZ series of chemical injectors is water-powered, so no electricity is needed, and includes three models to choose from: the D40MZ2 with a dilution range of 1:500 to 1:50; the D40MZ5 with a dilution range of 1:100 to 1:20; and the D40MZ3000 with dilution range of 1:3000 to 1:500. All are available with an optional bypass and union upon request. With flow rates of up to 40 gallons per minute, this new series of injectors is easy to install and maintain. The primary feature is a user-friendly, metal-free piston that has 63 percent fewer parts compared to the old style of piston. Fewer parts equal a simplified piston and effortless maintenance. This, in turn, means there is an extended lifetime to the pistons and injectors. For more information about the D40MZ series, contact Dosatron at (800) 523-8499 or www.dosatronusa.com. Tong Updates Vegetable Polishing Equipment The latest model of the TPS-Pro polisher has been carefully fine-tuned for 2021, resulting in a more refined design that maximizes performance and makes maintenance easier. Manufactured in a 14-brush model featuring a 3-meter- long by 800-millimeter barrel, as well as an 18-brush model featuring a 3-meter by 1,050-millimeter barrel, the TPS-Pro polisher is suitable for effective polishing of root crops including potatoes, carrots and parsnips, providing outputs of between 16.5 and 33 tons per hour. For lower throughputs of up to 11 tons per hour, Tong's U-Brush polisher has also been updated for 2021 to increase the machine's capacity. Besides being a very economical machine, one of the unique features of the U-Brush polisher is its internal bypass system that allows operators to effectively bypass the polisher in instances where the polishing process is not required. For many consumers, however, it contains too many carbohydrates. Europlant adapts to the low-carb nutrition trend and is now offering two potato varieties with fewer carbohydrates: the mild, mainly firm-cooking Coronada, which is branded as Linella, and the tasty, firm-cooking Montana. The innovative Coronada and Montana varieties were developed through selective breeding. The average relative energy content is at least 30 percent reduced in relation to fixed standards. Both varieties are grown by specially selected, qualified farmers who are certified by German QS standards. Before grading and packing, every lot is checked for its ingredients by neutral experts. Only if all legal requirements are met can a lot become part of Europlant's "lower- carb" program. For more information, visit www.europlant.biz.
