OL player bios Position Coach Darrell Funk is in his third year as the offensive line coach for the Wolverines. He previously served under Brady Hoke in the same capacity at both San Diego State (2009-10) and Ball State (2008). The offensive line struggled at times last season in the run game, with the unit averaging just 183.8 yards per contest. But the line took care of the quarterbacks, allowing just 18 sacks. In 2010, Funk's offensive line helped San Diego State finish 12th in the country in passing yards (295.4 yards per game) and 16th in total offense (456.7 yards per game). He also helped lead Ball State to a 12-2 record in his only season in Muncie, Ind. A Colorado State alumnus, he previously honed his craft under Rams head coach Sonny Lubick (2003-07) and also spent time as Northern Illinois' tight ends coach (2001-02). Funk has first-hand experience in the trenches, playing on both the offensive and defensive lines for Colorado State from 1983-86.
