PAGE 3 Fueling the future of innovative cancer care really is that easy. By including a gift to MSK in your will, you can help us prevent, control, and ultimately make every form of cancer treatable—and without giving away any of your assets today. Giving to MSK through your will is popular because it is: • Affordable. Your gift occurs after your lifetime, so it does not affect your current income. • Flexible. Until your will goes into effect, you are free to alter your plans or change your mind. • Versatile. You can give a specific item, a set amount of money, or a percentage of your estate. You can also make your gift contingent upon certain events. HOW A GIFT IN YOUR WILL WORKS To establish your gift, provide the language at right to your estate planning attorney so that he or she can include it in a new will or in an amendment to your existing documents. If you prefer, you can ask your attorney to structure your gift so that your loved ones will be taken care of first. How One Sentence Can Help Change Lives What if all you had to do to ensure that MSK has the resources it needs to advance life-changing care for years to come is to write a simple sentence? USE THIS SENTENCE: If you are ready to include a gift to MSK in your will, ask your attorney to use this suggested wording: "I give and bequeath to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, New York 10065, federal tax identification number 13-1924236, ___% of my residuary estate (or $___, or other property)." Every gift begins with an important question: How can I make a meaningful difference in the lives of others? If you have any questions about leaving a gift to MSK in your will, please contact us at or 800-688-1827. We would be honored to help you make a lasting impact for people with cancer. From the entire Planned Giving team, thank you for your unwavering support of MSK's research and care.
