technology Telogis expands mobile suite T elogis announced an expansion to its mobile suite of applications with the release of Telogis Navigation 4.5, WorkPlan 2.0, Vehicle-as-a-Hub and Coach. • Telogis Navigation 4.5, which now supports the Android operating system, features a redesigned and enhanced user interface that helps make the navigation easier to use. Telogis has continued to develop the navigation product following its acquisition of Maptuit in March 2011; Maptuit called the product NaviGo. Navigation 4.5 also features improved map quality, including embedded advanced map attributes relevant to commercial fleets. The nearly 110,000 active members of the Telogis Navigation platform will experience social community upgrades and feature enhancements designed to allow for a closed loop with drivers. • Telogis WorkPlan 2.0 integrates across the Telogis platform to allow customers to manage and engage with their mobile work forces more easily. Compatible with iOS and Android devices, the application enables users to manage work orders from the field and meet federal compliance mandates. Mobile workers can view all jobs as points on a map to visualize their days and routes, while back-office teams can see the real-time location and job status of all field workers using the Telogis platform. WorkPlan also incorporates hours-of-service management features designed to track driving hours automatically and keep electronic logs compliant. It also includes HOS limit warnings and automatic driver mode change to help improve accuracy. Workers also can use WorkPlan to automate and simplify the driver vehicle inspection report process. With the addition of QR codes, drivers can run WorkPlan on their mobile devices and scan the codes in order to verify inspections have been completed. • Telogis Vehicle-as-a-Hub (VaaH) is designed to consolidate mobile workers' wireless communications into one device by turning vehicles into a connected mobile hotspot while also supporting peripherals such as in-cab cameras. • Telogis Coach delivers a snapshot of the day's events to drivers' mobile devices, providing a quick look at daily driving records that can be accessed and reviewed to help drivers understand what behaviors and practices need improvement, and how the overall quality and safety of their driving habits fit into the organization's goals. Telogis Coach, available on Android and iOS devices, also includes personalized scorecards, leaderboards to compare against peers, violation listings and training videos to foster improvement. "Telogis understands the inherent need for our customers to have easier ways to have greater visibility into their mobile work forces," said Mark Wallin, vice president of product management. "Our mobile suite of applications has everything an enterprise needs to run its mobile work force – all in one seamless, powerful platform." 36 commercial carrier journal CCJ_0713_TechDept.indd 36 | Zonar debuts V3R telematics platform Z onar, a provider of electronic vehicle inspection and fleet telematics systems, released its V3R telematics platform for work truck fleets and construction equipment.
