WELCOME, AND THANK YOU FOR JOINING US. On behalf of the SEI Women's Network Board past and present, I want to welcome you to our 7th annual Leadership Summit. This year will come to a close in less than a month, and I think we're all looking forward to a new chapter in 2021. While 2020 tested us, we also found a driving force that brought out something deeply personal for each one of us. I'm thankful to come together today in celebration of what we can achieve together. One silver lining of the global pandemic is the ability to rethink and retool events like this one—we're honored to have a truly global audience joining us over these two days. We hope that this is one more step toward coming together with a shared purpose of service. As I wrote last year: "The SEI Women's Network Board of Directors is made up of a small, but certainly mighty, number of voices across our offices. Yet, we are not the 'Women's Network.' The board of directors is here to elevate the needs, concerns and voices of each and every one of you. You are the Women's Network." I meant it then, and I mean it even more today. There would not be a Women's Network without you. For our global colleagues and partners joining us, I invite you to hold us accountable—keep challenging us and seeking opportunities to be more inclusive, to be more representational and to achieve the equity we believe in so strongly. It's been a true honor to serve the SEI community over these past four years, and I feel like it went by too fast. My main commitment to you was to ensure that the board was a reflection of our communities because without a community to serve, there is no SEI Women's Network. Thank you for continuing to show up, speak out and lead from your heart. Thank you for giving your time, energy and spirit to equality and equity regardless of geographic presence. While I leave my role as President this year, I'm excited to cheer each and every one of you in the year to come. To our newest SEI Women's Network Board—cherish the time you have in service and remember that we cannot move forward together if even one of us is left behind. That fire that remains in your heart to serve others, people you haven't even met yet, will guide you to continue the mission we share. I will leave you with wise words from a woman whose life I've admired and death I've mourned, the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. RBG shared that "If you want to be a true professional, you will do something outside yourself." I hope that as we close 2020, you will find a path to do something outside yourself. And when you discover it, please let me know. I want to cheer you on, each and every step of the way.
