"We can have a legacy built," said Briggs-Blake, who was a finalist for the NHL's Willie O'Ree Award. "We can take this team and grow it from a ragtag team to a B-team and, say, 10 years from now, have it as a competitive presence. "Right now, we have black and brown players, white players, Asian players, mixed players—we are about diversity and inclu- sion. That's what we want to grow and really foster across all of hockey, but espe- cially here in Maryland and Virginia. "How can we make it easier for other kids to play hockey?
