The Blaine Super Rink hosted 84 of the top female hockey players
in the country this past summer for the 2021 USA Hockey Women's
National Festival. Twenty-seven of them hailed from Minnesota.
The players trained and competed during a weeklong camp with the
hopes of earning spots on the Olympic and national teams.
The festival also served as a pre-camp for the U.S. Women's
National Team competing in the IIHF Women's World
Championship (where Team USA captured silver), and as an eval-
uation for the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team. Twenty
different states were represented, with Minnesota boasting nearly
one-third of all players.
