• 7 • MESSAGE FROM THE Point If you were not able to attend 2021 TEVA Summer Symposium held at Horseshoe Bay back in August, we missed you. But don't worry, all lectures were recorded so you can still access them via the TEVA lecture library. Please reach out to the TEVA office if you would like access to the recorded lectures. The attendance at the 2021 TEVA Summer Symposium was fantastic. It was great to see colleagues, industry representatives, spouses, and technicians face-to-face again. Going into the meeting the Board of Directors and Educational Committee were not sure what to expect but were ecstatic with the outcome. Every lecture was heavily attended from the beginning to the end. Thank you to everyone for showing up and supporting TEVA. A huge shout out to the Auction Committee. The Wine Pull was held on Thursday evening and the rifle, pistol, silent and live auctions were held on Friday evening, combining for a total of $97,000. All proceeds go directly to the TEVA Foundation, which are dispersed to student scholarships, equitarian projects, disaster relief, student activities, and equine disease communications center. The TEVA Board of Directors would like to thank all donors and purchasers, we could never be as successful as an organization without y'all. As most members already know, the 2022 TEVA Summer Symposium will be held in Fort Worth next August. Dr. Leslie Easterwood is putting together a wet lab based program that you will not want to miss…stay tuned for more details. For those of you wanting to get more involved with TEVA, don't be shy. If you have any interest in being on a committee for TEVA, please contact any of the Board of Directors or Sara Green directly (sara@texasequineva.com). There is also a list of committees on the TEVA website (www.texasequineva.com); go to the home page, click on "membership," and select "join a committee." It is that simple to get involved. Lastly, I encourage you and your colleagues to become members and/or renew their membership. John Janicek, DVM, MS, DACVS DR. JOHN JANICEK PRESIDENT
