Intel® System Studio for Android* T hese tools provide original design manufacturer (ODM) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) mobile system developers deep system insights. The Studio includes Intel® VTune Amplifier, JIT profiler, Intel® C++ Compiler and libraries, Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers, and Intel® JTAG debugger. Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers (Intel® GPA) This real-time performance profiler helps developers understand the performance of applications on Intel processor-based Android devices. It gives developers insight into platform metrics including GPU, CPU, memory, power, and network, while allowing them to perform graphics pipeline experiments that expose code performance issues and bottlenecks. Intel® Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (HAXM): This hardware-assisted virtualization engine (hypervisor) uses Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) to speed up Android app emulation on a host machine. Intel® VTune™ Amplifier for Android This analysis tool helps developers gain insight into the power and performance characteristics of Intel processor-based Android devices. It includes lightweight collectors that run on the target device and a robust GUI for analyzing the results on a host machine. Beacon Mountain V0.5 A comprehensive development environment for native Android* apps running on ARM* and Intel® Atom™ devices. Beacon Mountain provides and installs Intel and thirdparty tools onto host Microsoft Windows* 64-bit systems to help shorten the Android app development cycle. The V0.5 release includes these Intel tools: • Intel® GPA System Analyzer. Optimizes OpenGL* ES 1.0/2.0 workloads by providing a real-time view of over two dozen critical system metrics covering the CPU, GPU, and OpenGL ES API. • Intel® HAXM. A hardware-assisted virtualization engine that uses Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) to speed up Android emulation in a host environment. • Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel® IPP) Preview. A library of pre-optimized image processing functions supporting Intel Atom processorbased Android mobile platforms. The preview release is a subset of the full Intel IPP product that supports the Android OS. • Intel® Threading Building Blocks (Intel® TBB). A widely used, award-winning C++ template library of pre-tested algorithms and features that allow developers to efficiently thread C++ mobile applications for performance, while lowering system energy consumption. Third-party tools in the V0.5 release include: • Google* Android SDK (ADT Bundle for Windows) provides API libraries and developer tools to build, test, and debug apps for Android. • Android NDK for x86 supports implementation of application code using native C/C++. • Eclipse* Integrated Development Environment is part of the ADT bundle and provides developers with an integrated environment to build applications. • Android Design is a bundled pack of stencils, icons, styles, and more to use within your apps without restriction. • Cygwin* is a Linux-like environment for mixing Java and C/C++ code on Microsoft Windows systems.
