In the words of B. Dolan, 'You can kill a man but never the Eyedea'. him as a natural lyricist with crazy rhymes ranging from a trippy trilogy of tunes about being a fish, to songs dealing with Eyedea's doubts about his own existence. Although the LP never pushed Eyedea into the mainstream, it was well received and is considered an underground classic. Eyedea's first studio release, 2001's First Eyedea and Abilities released two further Born with DJ Abilities further cemented studio albums to more critical praise, E&A Beginning as a battle MC, Eyedea quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with, winning top prizes at Battle Blaze New York 2000, Scribble Jam 1999 and Rock Steady Anniversary 2000 at the tender age of 18. July RELEASES (2004) and By The Throat (2009). Eyedea's love for rhymes extended way beyond just hip-hop and into rock and jazz as you can also here him in his rock band, Carbon Carousel and the improvisational jazz/rap group, Face Candy. Eyedea's probably best known nowadays for his jaw-dropping freestyle videos. A quick search on YouTube will give you plenty of material but his freestyle with Slug on The Wake Up Show and his battle with Shells at the 2000 Blaze Battle are second to none.
