HOUSE / TECHNO 26 www.guestlist.net event review: Tetra State Launch with Hot Creations Special Guest@ Crucifix Lane On July 5th, Tetra State ran a launch party at Southwark's Crucifix Lane, bringing an intense line-up of techno and disco acts to the warehouse venue. Topping the bill were special guests selected from the starstudded label Hot Creations, home to house legends MK, Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. With a no-nonsense music policy, on the night there were sets from the extremely talented Him_Self_Her (Crosstown Rebels), Tough Love (Love Not Money/ Cream Couture), and resident DJ Syncretic plus a very special performance from Hot Creation's own Mark Jenkyns. The rave was one for the straight-through crew, banging on from 10pm right through until 7 in the morning. July RELEASES Issue 53 / 2013 artist of the month: Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs With gigs coming up all around the world this summer and a mainstay of festivals the world over, it has become clear that TEED has become one of the leading figures in dance music; beloved by indie kids and EDM-heads alike. The producer/DJ's real name is Orlando Higginbottom, a name which probably had some influence on the eccentricity which now guides his eclectic, highly individualised production and on-stage persona. Note: The immaculately made dinosaur-themed wardrobe he flaunts at his gigs is probably worth the admission price on its own. Amongst his most popular tracks, 'Household Goods', 'Garden' and 'Your Love' have become huge indie-dance anthems, soundtracking more hip club nights and TV and radio shows than we can keep count of. Due to the nature of TEED's sound, his tracks tend be remixed by tons of artists too, broadening his musical scope massively. With dancers dressed as dino's, faultlessly brilliant visuals and an impeccable live show, TEED's hard graft has earned our stamp of approval. As well as his hugely successful debut album Trouble, TEED has remixed tracks by the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Foals and Professor Green. He also features regularly on both Annie Mac's and Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 shows. We can't wait for a new TEED release to undergo the now customary leak into every corner of music culture, re-infecting our lives with his unique and euphoric dino-dance sounds.
