DRUM N BASS / DUBSTEP 36 www.guestlist.net Event Review: imaginarium @ Vauxhall The seventh installment of the fetish themed rave in Vauxhall saw it's party-goers gearing up for survival mode with its Alien Safari theme. Issue 53 / 2013 Artist of the month: Calibre EDM — Electronic Dance Music — American Rave Music, Popular Dance Music, Revolutionary, Origins of Dance Music, SHIT! Returning to the decks were the usual suspects Voodootronix, Lynch the Hangman and Simon Iridium spinning everything from electro-house to drum and bass to jungle. On top of this there was some very welcome newcomers to the forefront of the Starship Imaginarium, including the likes of Meonmeown who opened up Room 2 with some classic 90's pop before moving into electro-house later on. I think what makes raving on the Starship Imaginarium so unique is the atmosphere and vibe that is generated by the fully dressed, facepainted, tattooed and costumed crowd. Its so easy to embrace and get lost in the craziness of the event! Calibre is a name already familiar within the drum and bass community and is often hailed as one of the most innovative and respected producers in the game. His 9th album Spill was released in May this year and totally cemented his position as a veteran of the genre. His unique and beautiful take on liquid drum and bass has resulted in him being known by many as the 'Music July RELEASES Man'. As well as his own productions, Calibre is often seen as a 'go to' guy for remixes. One of his most famous remixes is of TEED's 'Garden', a track that was featured heavily in many DJ's sets throughout 2012. Although he is somewhat illusive to the media, his music speaks volumes and he continues to consistently produce amazing tracks. Calibre also has his own label, Signature Recordings, which is the main platform for his releases. On top of that, he has also dropped tracks on Marcus Intalex's Soul:R imprint, and also DJ's at various different Soul:ution nights across the country. esp-agency.co.uk/ artist/calibre
