GUESTLIST 5 7 www.guestlist.net Issue 53 / 2013 NEWS FLASH HIP HOP Ciara drops new album! Ciara drops her 5th largely anticipated self-titled album 'Ciara'. With the early release of singles 'I'm Out' ft Nicki Minaj and 'Body Party' we can already tell this album is going to leave lasting impressions! REVIEWS: MINIStrY OF SOUND HOUSE Aujunadeep new release! 22nd July 22th June Bob Sinclar's Paris by Night @ Ministry of Sound We made our way down to the legendary Ministry of Sound for a very rare and special performance from Bob Sinclar. Promoting his long awaited release, Paris By Night (A Parisian Musical Experience) we were lucky enough to catch Sinclair's epic house set in the main room of the club before he jetted-off to his summer residency at Pacha straight afterwards. The infamous French electro-house producer and DJ rocked the dance floor, taking us on a journey through Parisian house music with his soulful grooves. The atmosphere was absolutely electric with the crowd in complete awe of his DJ skills. The support acts on the night were the incredible Tim Cullen and Igor Project, whilst Room 2 was headed-up by Evil Twin, Danny K and Robin K amongst others. This was an amazing night from a wicked DJ at one of the best clubs in the world; absolutely dream stuff in my eyes. July 22nd will see the underground House label Anjunadeep release their fifth house music compilation featuring the latest line-up of hot underground producers. INDIE Bat for Lashes @ Shepherds Bush Empire Don't miss out on BRIT nominated Bat for Lashes' very special and only UK show. Get your ticket now. DNB Benga Removes himself from Dubstep! 17th June Stereophonics @ under the bridge The gig was hosted by XFM in aid of the charity War Child, and the only possible way to get in was to either win tickets or get on the guestlist. It wasn't held at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge but in a tiny compact pub under the stadium which could hold about 300 people. It couldn't get much more intimate for a night with Kelly Jones. They started the night with 'Catacomb', a single from their new album but continued through the night with legendary songs from their older albums like 'Have A Nice Day' and 'Superman'. The drinks were flowing and the crowd were buzzing as the boys continued to entertain us with great music while reminiscing about good times in the past. Finishing up with 'Dakota', the atmosphere was booming as lighters were held aloft as everybody in the room sang in sync with Kelly Jones' sweet, rocky vocals. 27th June Two Door cinema club @ The Lexington What a night! Two Door Cinema Club have continued to take their career to new heights in the last few years, so to see them live in such an intimate gig was purely amazing. XFM hosted the gig on June 27th at the small quirky pub, The Lexington in North London. The invite-only gig started with the boys taking to the stage and opening with tracks from their new album Beacon. With only four people stood in between me and the good-looking Irish band, it's still hard to believe how close I got to them. Knowing they would be playing the same set that weekend at Glastonbury to thousands of people was an incredible feeling. They continued the night with classics 'I Can Talk' and 'Costume Party' as the crowd continued to dance like noone was watching. I can't wait to see what this trio whip up in the future! One of Dubstep's earliest legends has declared that he is no longer interested in the genre he helped define. His reasons are unclear but his actions suggest he believes the genre has moved away from what it used to stand for. REGGAE Lee Scratch Perry & Max Romeo @ WOMAD festival Lee Scratch Perry and Max Romeo will be filling in for Toots and The Maytals at WOMAD festival. For some this is an exciting opportunity to see two legends perform live at the WOMAD festival. www.guestliSt.net/tv See who has been dropping in with us! EVE Benga Ilona WE can GET YOU INTO CLUBS!
