No surprise, the pandemic kicked off numerous home design trends ranging from building patios and firepits to creating more soothing environments through softer colors, lighting, furniture, and décor. So what interior design trends are hot for spring? To find out, we talked with three North Shore furniture and home goods store owners, all of whom offer interior design services. Q: What design styles are people craving? A: People want calm and functional designs, says Linda Reilly Newall, interior designer and owner of Marblehead's Surroundings. A: Our clients want comfort in design, especially in areas where the family can relax, says vice president of sales Gary Fisher and Middleton design consultant Shannon Hetherington from Circle Furniture. They want multifunction spaces, work-from-home spaces and more color. A: People want help curating their style, either with us in our store or through our Mak design services, says Circle Furniture offers the latest styles with a sustainable edge.
