You've spent months yearning for the sweet aroma of the earth warming, the chirp of birdies returning, the fresh sprigs of plants sprouting. Finally, spring is beginning to unfold. And the good news is that you've got preview seats—near the coast, little wonders might pop up days before they show their faces inland. But this is also a notoriously fickle season. While the weather is teetering back and forth between brrr! and aah! throughout your typical North Shore spring, you can bring some of the seasonal highlights inside to enjoy during those days when kneeling to admire some itty bitty adorable sprout may not be a comfortable experience. Hosting nature indoors has so many benefits. First of all, there's the intimacy factor. When you bring a plant or flower into your home, it becomes family. You notice characteristics that you might miss outside. Many of spring's prime performers are diminutive; being close and personal reveals their subtleties.
