Downtown Ensenada Tradition Returns! The 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship season is once again returning to our legendary Start/Finish and Contingency area in downtown Ensenada. The historical Riviera Culture center that overlooks the Start / Finish line for the 2022 BFGoodrich SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts, will be once again host the SCORE Registration, Driver’s meeting and the race event’s Press Conference, as we return to pre-COVID operational status. This will be the first time since 2018, that the SCORE Baja 500 has started from this area due to Baja election year activities in 2019 and then COVID impact years. This will also include the contingency day activities. This now allows the long-awaited SCORE Fan Base to once again able to get close to the Driver/Rider for interactions during Contingency day and be able to see the race start and finish activities on race day. The May SCORE Journal provides a great overview of what is happening for the Goodrich Tires 54th SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. This includes the SCORE Baja 500 Course map, Schedule of Events, Points Leaders and Historical information to get a great feel for the legendary status for this race, which was the first race to ever take place under the SCORE International banner in 1974. Please check out the great story provided by the SCORE Journal edit team on one of the most critical and important areas that make the SCORE World Desert Championship race series actually take place, the Pit Services. These services are a main factor as to how teams can actually compete in SCORE Baja racing, as we have the most unique challenges of any motorsport’s activity. We reached out to the primary Pit services and got their take on the challenges and more importantly, the rewards they earn from supporting all the team activities from the Sportsman to Trophy Truck classes, to ensure they have fuel, mechanical repair and even water and food services. These are also a critical element for SCORE safety protocols and race communications. Shining the light on the supporting lighting manufactures is also reviewed at length with the usual category analysis that involves SCORE Journal conversations with the category experts and how this product area is an absolute factor to being able to compete in the SCORE World Desert Championship. This impacts the team performance but more importantly, their safety.
