'It is very difficult, at a time of tragedy for his homeland, to w rite a dispassionate rev iew of Oleksandr Bohomazov.' * Bohomazov first came to the world's attention in 2015 when the Kröller-Müller Museum purchased four works from our TEFAF exhibition Time – Forward! The following year, we put on a personal exhibition of Bohomazov, selling 14 works from the show, including two more to Kröller-Müller. TEFAF 2020 saw the museum add another work, the vertical 1916 Self Portrait, to its collection. Bohomazov and Kröller-Müller are the subject of the TEFAF 2022 video 'Meet the Experts', which can be downloaded below, and Bohomazov's work will be on show at the same museum at the exhibition Futurism & Europe. The aesthetics of a New World between 29 April and 3 September 2023. The tragedy of Ukraine means that world museums are looking to exhibit Ukrainian Art of the period (Ukrainian Modernism 1900-1930). At the time of going to press, the Thyssen Museum in Madrid and the Ludwig Museum in Cologne have confirmed for late-2022 and spring 2023 respectively. Thus, we respectfully ask our clients to make available any picture for future museum loan exhibitions. We also commit to donate 15% of the profits from TEFAF 2022 to the UNHCR's humanitarian relief fund for Ukraine. By late-May over £84,000 has been raised from a variety of actions and we hope to raise a further £150,000 by Maastricht end. James Butterwick & Martin Muller * Please note that, at the request of Ukrainian friends and officials, we have reviewed the spelling of the artist's name and reverted to its Ukrainian transliteration.
