From 1996 to 1999 she was an associate at Abel Veterinary Services, located in Friendswood, Texas. She spent 1999 to 2005 at Y7 Veterinary Services in Milano, Texas, and then went to complete her residency in internal medicine at Texas A&M, which she completed in 2008. Since then she has been a member of the Texas A&M Veterinary School clinical faculty specializing in Equine Community Practice. She is one of two veterinarians who serve as the official veterinarians of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, remaining on the grounds the entire 24 days of the event. Among many the many mentors she credits, she is grateful to Dr. Kent Carter, also a faculty member at A&M, for his influence and support. Her favorite are parts of practicing veterinary medicine include periocular tumors and ophthalmology, and building relationships with her clients and their families. In addition to furthering the art of veterinary medicine, she believes that equine oncology is an area that would benefit more scholarship and attention. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Easterwood is a true Aggie, who loves everything related to the university, from the Corps of Cadets, Parsons Mounted Cavalry, and Veteran students, to the football team, band, and the traditions of the 12th Man. She also enjoys traveling, staying in historic hotels, and Lyle Lovett concerts. Dr. Easterwood first became involved with TEVA in 2012 with the Practice Membership at TAMU, the first first year TEVA introduced the group membership level. She served as the Treasurer for the Foundation and Association from 2016–2019 and is the 2020–2021 Vice President of the Board. She is President-Elect for 2022 and will serve as President in 2023.
