7 Regist : Howdy, The program that we have put together for our 12 th TEVA Symposium is a bit of a departure from our past formats. This year we have a heavily weighted hands-on portion of the program. TEVA has always tried very hard to leave our attendees with something practical that they can take home and implement into their practices right away. We sincerely hope that this year you will have practical hands-on experiences that continue our practical philosophy. We are also delving deeper into the issue of retention in Equine practice by hosting the Platinum Practice Breakfast session with Suzanne Brown on Friday morning. This session represents TEVA's continued commitment to help with the problems our field of practice is experiencing. This session will hopefully spur more discussions and brainstorming for the important issues affecting "Sustainability in Equine Practice". EVERYONE is invited to this breakfast and we hope to see you there! Thursday evening we will have the Welcome Reception sponsored by Merck and Dechra. During this session we will have our Norwood News Hour for 1 CEU from 5:30–6:30PM, with Canaan Whitfield, DVM, PhD, DACVSMR-Eq; Margo L. Macpherson, DVM, MS, DACT; and Michelle Coleman, DVM, PhD, DACVIM. Following the Norwood News Hour, we invite everyone to meet and greet our veterinary student attendees from 6:30PM–7:30PM. We have our largest ever delegation of veterinary students attending this year. We encourage everyone to get to know these outstanding students and welcome them into our Association and profession. We will have guests at our Foundation Luncheon to discuss the cooperative efforts of our TEVA Foundation's Disaster Relief efforts with those of The Foundation for the Horse (AAEP), and the LVMA's Equine Committee. This has become a very impactful partnership. You won't want to miss this opportunity to take pride in what our Foundation has accomplished in such a short time. The TEVA Foundation Gala will also be a "CAN'T MISS" event!! The evening will be sponsored by Boehringer-Ingelheim and MWI Veterinary Supply. We have more fun and fellowship mixed with fund- raising efforts to continue our disaster response, student support, and Equitarian mission work. Silent auctions, live auctions, and raffles are just some of the offerings that we will have to help continue the important work of our Foundation. I have enjoyed planning this program and know we have assembled an amazing line-up of speakers and lab instructors. I sincerely hope that you get something out of every session that leaves you excited about going home and utilizing it in your practice! I can't wait to see everyone in Cowtown! Most sincerely, Leslie PRESIDENT-ELECT LESLIE EASTERWOOD DVM, MA A Message from the Point
