Spano wins Big Ten Network scholarship Purdue student Timothy Spano was Purdue's recipient of the Big Ten Network's LiveBIG Scholarship. The scholarship was a $1,000 award for outstanding service on campus. Spano is a member of Apha Phi Omega at Purdue, a service fraternity. Each of the Big Ten's 12 member schools had a winner that was determined by online voting. Other Purdue finalists were Kaitlin Conti, Travis Huber, Alan Mast and Rachael Smith. Golf takes third in Puerto Rico The men's golf team closed out a three-day performance at the Puerto Rico Classic with an even-par 288 to finish in third place overall. The Boilers finished the event at 8-under par, finishing behind runner-up Clemson and team champion Alabama. Individually, Purdue was led by seniors Tyler Duncan and William Sjaichudin, who finished tied for seventh at 3-under par. Freshman Justin Cho also posted a top-30 finish, coming in 29th place with 2-over par finish.
