THE STATE OF
by Jim Cline, CAO
I had the privilege of delivering
the "State of the Industry"
presentation at the recent
USIndoor Conference. While
researching the condition of the
indoor sports industry, I came to
the conclusion that most indoor
facilities are finally going on
economic offense and leaving the
past few years of hunkered-down,
cash-flow defense.
W
e learned during the economic
downturn that we are not really
recession proof, as we always told each
other, but possibly somewhat recession
resistant, and what we all were convinced
of—that parents will still spend on their
kids no matter how bad it gets—didn't
really hold up in many parts of the country.
For some, disposable income was hard
to find.
