WALKER EVANS INDUCTED INTO SEMA HALL OF FAME The Specialty Equipment Market Association inducted legendary off-road racer and pioneer Walker Evans into its Hall of Fame. Among SCORE racers and fans, Evans is well known since his career began in 1969, winning more than 150 off-road races as well as SCORE Baja 500 and Baja 1000 championships. Evans was the first off-road racer to win a SCORE race in a full-sized truck, and he also helped many current and past legendary Baja racers get their start in racing, powertrain manufacturing, chassis building and more. Evans continues to inspire innovation in motorsports and the automotive aftermarket. Pictured here in between SCORE’s VP of Marketing Jim Ryan, and Evan’s wife Phyllis. 2023 SCORE 50th ANNIVERSARY SEASON ANNOUNCED The 2023 SCORE World Desert Championship Season celebrates SCORE International’s 50th Anniversary that includes a point-to-point BFGoodrich Tires 56th SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. Under the direction of Mickey Thompson, SCORE International began in August of 1973 with the first race held on July 26th 1974 with the SCORE Baja Internacional. “To be part of celebrating the Golden anniversary of SCORE in 2023 is extremely humbling and inspiring for all of us at the same time,” commented Jose A. Grijalva, President/Race Director of SCORE International. “Our Golden 2023 schedule will include the SCORE Baja Triple Crown races along with our newest race—the SCORE Baja 400.” “Mexican races are the cornerstone of SCORE and to have all four races south of the border for the eighth consecutive season and eighth time in SCORE’s long history is a distinct honor and a wonderful privilege. 2023 will be a one-of-a-kind experience with the Granddaddy of all Desert Races starting in La Paz for the first time and finishing in Ensenada.” SCORE BACK AT 2023 OFF-ROAD EXPO After a two-year hiatus, SCORE International is returning to the 2022 Off-Road Expo that will take place October 1st and 2nd at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. “We’re happy to be back and celebrating everything about SCORE Baja racing at the Off-Road Expo this year,” says Jim Ryan VP Marketing. “We are in a new area this year, Building #7 where SCORE will release the SCORE Baja 1000 map among a large display that will include SCORE racers, modern and vintage race vehicles, sponsors and much more.” For more information on the Off-Road Expo, visit https://www.offroadexpo.com/
