A TASTE OF BAJA The SCORE International Display Brought Desert Racing To 2022 SEMA Show Attendees By SCORE Journal Staff Photos by Dan Sanchez Just outside the new West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, the SCORE International display gave attendees of the 2022 SEMA Show a taste of what SCORE Baja racing is all about. The SEMA Show, held Nov 1st thru 4th this year, is the largest annual gathering of the entire automotive aftermarket and racing industry. It’s the one place where hundreds of aftermarket manufacturers and industry businesses come to meet thousands of industry professionals, media, and celebrities to see the latest products, custom cars, and trends for the following year. SCORE International was invited again to showcase Baja racing and had a display outside the new West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during the show. The display featured SCORE’s large screen playing highlights from this season’s races, along with a variety of vehicles including the Simon and Simon SCORE Trophy Truck, Bobby Ferro’s Sandmaster buggy, Terrible Herbst’s SCORE Trophy Truck Spec, Rob MacCachren #1 SCORE Trophy Truck, Michael Gaughan’s Ramcharger race truck, Cameron Steele’s Pro UTV Open Can-Am, and several awesome prerunners. A short walk from the SCORE area into the Las Vegas Convention Center and you would find yourself surrounded by the best show vehicles and an abundance of aftermarket parts ranging from Overlanding to street rods, and off-road products and accessories. Of the many aftermarket manufacturers in attendance, Baja Designs, whose LED lights are used by many SCORE off-road racers, was named SEMA Manufacturer of the year. Baja Designs CEO Trent Kirby accepted the award and announced that new revamped SAE products and product improvements for their Pro Series and new LEDs’ that will give a wide and focused spread at the same price point, will be available in January 2023. With so much going on during this week-long show here’s a sample of what we found interesting at this year’s event. SJ
