36 VisitSavannah.com Savannah is home to two sports teams (and a third on the way), the Savannah Bananas exhibition baseball team and the Savannah Ghost Pirates minor-league ice hockey team — not to mention myriad other ways to enjoy a live sporting event. Bananas games at Grayson Stadium (1401 E. Victory Drive) are an unforgettable experience with on-fi eld dancing and other antics that have caught the attention of The New York Times and ESPN. Win or lose, the Bananas always have fun during their February-through-September season. Plus, they've also invented a brand-new sport: Banana Ball changes the game of baseball with a two-hour time limit, off ering an easier time commitment for fans with just as much entertainment. The Savannah Ghost Pirates' hit the ice in Enmarket Arena (620 Stiles Ave.) for their inaugural season in Fall 2022 and quickly won a fan following with their October-through- April season. The arena also hosts the Enmarket Savannah Hockey Classic, a collegiate hockey tournament typically taking place every January. Another soon-to-be pro team in The Hostess City? The Savannah Clovers Football Club. Although the Savannah Clovers Football Club has been around since 2016, the team recently joined the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) and will debut in 2023 as the city's fi rst-ever pro soccer team. The NISA season runs roughly from March through August. The city's temperate climate, fl at topography and enchanting views are a runner's dream. No wonder, then, that Savannah hosts several runs, including the Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run, held the fi rst Saturday of December, over the 5.5% grade Talmadge Memorial Bridge. The Publix Women's Half and 5K, April 1, 2023, takes runners through historic downtown, while the YMCA Critz Tybee Run, Feb. 3-4, 2023, invites participants out to Tybee Island's sunny shores. Looking for a tee time? Savannah certainly knows its golf game. Now home to the Korn Ferry Tour's Club Car Championship at The Landings Club and within driving distance of the Masters, the RBC Heritage and the RSM Classic, you can shoot a round at one of our spectacular and challenging courses, like The Club at Savannah Harbor or the Crosswinds Golf Club.
