Perry St. Situated inside the elegant Perry Lane Hotel, Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market satisfies any time of day — it's open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., encompassing breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The restaurant also includes Bowerbird Coffee on-site for those who prefer a light bite and a caffeinated kick and a wine market and bar. Still, it's arguably best enjoyed at dinnertime, where visitors can order upscale mains like braised lamb shanks, duck confit and whole snapper. ALLIGATOR SOUL 114 Barnard St. Enjoy the distinctive Southern ambiance combined with a seasonal menu that's as eclectic as its name. This upscale and elegant gem utilizes farm-fresh ingredients, local day-boat fish and grass-fed meat. Try obscure selections like antelope, elk or ostrich. Vegetarian? A daily vegetarian dish is offered using market-fresh ingredients. HUSK SAVANNAH 12 W. Oglethorpe Ave. Husk first made a splash in Charleston, but the Southern- meets-fine-dining cuisine is equally tempting "down South" here in Savannah. The menu changes daily, but guests can count on delicacies like oysters, caviar and a raw bar alongside supper — not dinner! — mains like flank steak or Szechuan-honey chicken. CIRCA 1875 48 Whitaker St. Its location next to The Paris Market & Brocante notwithstanding, Circa 1875 is a French-inspired destination all its own. Stepping into this charming bistro is like a quick jaunt to Paris, with its vintage- inspired decor and a wine cellar. The menu echoes Parisian sensibilities: think escargot, poulet rôti and crepes aux crevettes. VIC'S ON THE RIVER 26 E. Bay St. Dining with a view is on the menu at Vic's on the River, offering a vista as delicious as Southern dishes like fried green tomatoes with goat cheese, tomato chutney and balsamic glaze. Open for lunch or dinner, Vic's is an enchanting, quintessentially Savannah spot any time of day. COTTON & RYE 1801 Habersham St. Just slightly off the beaten path, Cotton & Rye is a local favorite well worth the short trip outside the Historic District. Don't miss the crispy chicken wings or buttermilk rye cornbread to start, then order the tagliatelle pasta with shrimp and butter- poached scallops for a strong (and decadent) finish.
