However, he and the Philadelphia Eagles came up just short in Super Bowl LVII. K a n sa s C i ty o u t l a s te d t h e N FC champs 38-35 inside of Arizona's State Farm Stadium. Sanders, who was riding a hot streak from a 2-touchdown performance in the NFC title game, was possibly injured and not used often in the biggest game of the year. He finished with only 7 car- ries for 16 yards and didn't catch a pass in what may have been his final game as an Eagle. A second-round pick of the NFC East franchise back in 2019, Sanders enters the 2023 offseason as a free agent for the first time. He has 739 attempts in 57 career games (49 starts) and has rushed for 3,708 yards and 20 touchdowns over four seasons. While generally considered success- ful since breaking into the NFL, he has a tendency at times to run east and west instead of north and south. However, any of the 32 NFL teams, including Philadelphia, could certainly use the 25-year-old's skill set moving forward. When asked earlier this year about his looming free agency, Sanders said, "I haven't really thought about it yet, but that's just the way this league is. There are going to be certain people with bet- ter opportunities. There's going to be some people that can't be here. "It's a business. So, you can't take anything really personal. You go out there and do the best you can, and hopefully you're set up for your future. That's all I can really say about that." Eagles coach Nick Sirianni often complimented Sanders during the sea- son. The former Nittany Lion ran for a career-best 1,269 yards and 11 touch- Sanders finished with a career-high 1,269 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2022 regular season.
