It's almost time for our 19th Annual North American Rink Conference & Expo (NARCE), held this year in Buffalo, N.Y. Aside from the industry-leading educational courses offered at NARCE, the next best part of the event is the opportunity it affords our members to network with each other face to face. If you haven't registered for a course at NARCE this year, I would encourage you to consider purchasing a RINK Expo Pass (avail- able at usicerinks.com) to attend the trade show, so you don't miss the chance to interact with our vendor members and see what new products and services they have to offer. If you can't make it to NARCE in June, hopefully we will see you at one of our Regional Training Programs (RTP) located around the country July through November. RTP locations and dates are includ- ed in this month's issue, starting on page 29. Additional information and online registration is available on our website at usicerinks.com on the Education page. Regardless of whether you par- ticipate in one of our educational programs this year, I encourage you to invest in some form of profes- sional development for yourself. The knowledge you gain and the people you meet through continuing education is invaluable to you and your business. I hope you enjoy this issue of RINK, with a feature about F&M Bank Arena and Ford Ice Center, a new multi-purpose arena and community rink in Clarksville, TN; a project in pictures piece about the extensive rink floor replacement proj- ect going on this summer at 3M Arena at Mariucci; and a story about broomball programming. We wrapped up this issue with a spotlight on one of our NARCE instructors, Jane Delahunt, from St. Cloud State University. Wishing you the best, — Jeff Theiler, Chief Operating Officer, United States Ice Rink Association Opening ADDRESS Welcome from Jeff Theiler THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE UNITED STATES ICE RINK ASSOCIATION MAY/JUNE 2023 // VOL. 26, NO. 3 USICERINKS.COM // INFO@USICERINKS.COM C E O Laura McEwen C H A I R M A N Steve Farbman P R E S I D E N T James McEwen S E N I O R V I C E P R E S I D E N T David Jensen C O N T R O L L E R Mike Schwarz C R E A T I V E D I R E C T O R Rob Johnson A R T D I R E C T O R S Mike DeArmond, Brandon Favre D E S I G N E R S Theresa Shim, Taylor McCumber A D S A L E S Bryan Nelson V I C E P R E S I D E N T, M A R K E T I N G & C L I E N T S T R A T E G Y Jessica Disch E D I T O R Aaron Paitich C O N T E N T W R I T E R Emily Sizen C O N T E N T M A N A G E R Elizabeth Boger A D C O O R D I N A T O R Samantha Cady RINK Magazine is the definitive business publication for professionals in the ice rink industry and is the leading source for information on facility management, operations and programming.
