great mix of old and young farmers, farm
chemical suppliers and consultants. All of
them willingly give of their time to help us
invest assessment funds with our research
partners at CSU. We invest in projects to
find solutions to critical issues growers face.
The CSU research team includes these
professors: Jessica Chitwood Brown, David
Holm, Mohamad Chikh Ali, Samuel
Essah, Sastry Jayanty, Vamsi Nalam,
Punya Nachappa, Ana Cristina Fulladolsa,
Andrew Houser, Jane Stewart, Adam
Hueberger, Sahar Bagheri Toulabi, Jorge
Vivanco, an army of graduate students
learning the ropes, and valuable research
assistants, too. I must mention Meng Meng
Gu and Amy Charkowski, the department
heads, who lead this great team in their
valuable work.
As you face the challenges of a new
season and strive to learn from the obstacles
that come your way, please remember
that you have a talented team working this
season to help you learn how to deal with
these obstacles. You should reach out to
them with questions and for help.
Much like a farmer, they too have a
limited opportunity to learn and see what
happens in the potato field during the year,
and they can learn faster and better with
more exposure to problems and successes
