30 IDAHO FALLS MAGAZINE JULY 2023 Homestead Pizza & Bowling is bringing a fla- vor-filled pizza parlor and bowling alley to the Eastern Idaho dining scene. e former Skyline Lanes, now Homestead Pizza & Bowling, was renovated and revamped into a homely dining establishment in 2022. Homestead's roots reach all the way from Oregon, where they have four other locations named Papa's Pizza. Papa's Pizza began as a family business in 1971, sharing their favorite family recipes with other pizza lovers. With over 50 years of experience and passion for pizza, the owners of Homestead are excited to join the Idaho Falls community. From the traditional pepperoni to the fully load- ed combination pizza, this parlor is certain their pizzas won't disappoint. One of the most unique pizzas on the menu—the Idahoan—is topped with fries, bacon bits and cheddar cheese. What more can you ask for? Another one of the local favorites from this parlor is the famous taco pizza. e taco twist on this piz- za consists of refried beans, onion, lean beef, taco chips, lettuce, tomato and cheese. "e taco pizza is to die for," manager Billy Taylor said. "People love it." What sets the pizzas at this parlor apart from others is the dedication to quality. "We go the extra mile by making the dough fresh in house every morning, making our pizza sauce from scratch using our own recipe and grinding the cheese from blocks to ensure a great melt," Billy said. On top of that, their pizzas are cooked using a deck brick oven, creating the perfect crispy crust. Deck brick ovens ensure a higher quality cook than a regular conveyor style oven that most chain pizza parlors use and require more skill to use. "Even though it's more challenging, you can taste the difference," Billy said. Pizza Made with Passion The story behind the new Homestead Pizza & Bowling By Maudie Heard DINING I PIZZA & ITALIAN
