To achieve the CIT professional designation an individual must meet:
• Successfully complete the following operations courses
(100% attendance & pass exams):
o
Basic Arena Refrigeration (BAR)
o
Ice Making & Painting Technologies (IMPT)
o
Ice Maintenance & Equipment Operations (IMEO)
• Be a current member (Individual, Facility or Vendor)
o
Note: Only those members that live and work in the United
States are eligible to achieve the CIT professional designation
through the United States Ice Rink Association.
To maintain the CIT professional designation an individual must:
• Maintain an annual membership (Individual, Facility or Vendor)
• Pass a CIT recertification exam every five years from the year
they originally completed the CIT
To achieve the CIRM professional designation an
individual must:
• Be a current member (Individual, Facility, Vendor)
• Earn a CIT and CRA professional designation
To maintain the CIRM professional designation an
individual must:
• Maintain an annual membership (Individual, Facility or Vendor)
• Maintain their CIT and CRA professional designations
To achieve the CRA professional designation an individual must:
• Be a current member (Individual, Facility, Vendor)
• Successfully complete the following management courses
(100% attendance & pass exams):

Human Resource Management (HRM)
o
Operations & Risk Management (ORM)
o
Programming, Marketing & Promotions (PMP)
To maintain the CRA professional designation an individual must:
• Maintain an annual membership (Individual, Facility or Vendor)

Certified Ice Technician (CIT)
CIT is the most highly regarded
professional designation for ice
rink operations professionals in
North America.
The CIT professional designation
is offered by the United States Ice
Rink Association to its members

with the Ontario Recreation
Facilities Association (ORFA).
