2023 Suspension Guide The Latest Off-Road Suspension Packages By Mike Vieira Improving your vehicle’s suspension to have more usable wheel travel, takes some serious components. But it’s not just about more traction over rough terrain. Suspension components need to work together to provide the right combination and strength of components that work together with spring rates and shocks capable of withstanding the abuse. We’ve gathered some of the latest suspension components from shock and suspension manufacturers who are involved with desert off-road motorsports, and who have put together combinations to make your vehicle ride smooth, fast and more capable over any terrain. King Shocks https://www.kingshocks.com/ 2022-and-up Toyota Tundra 3.0 IBP Shock Kit King Shocks now makes an upgrade kit with its 3.0 IBP coil over shocks that feature compression adjusters to fit 2022 and up model Toyota Tundra pickups. These front (PN 33700-396A) and rear (PN 33700-397A) shock kits are 100 percent bolt-on and provide increased wheel travel and are factory tuned for optimal ride quality. The systems feature external finned reservoirs and are made from extruded 6061-T6 aluminum. MSRP N/A Bump Stop Bypass Shocks The latest technology from King Shocks is the company’s Bump Stop Bypass shocks that are externally adjustable and feature a linear and consistent force curve compared to emulsion-style bump stops. Finned reservoirs are also included for greater heat dissipation and these bump stop shocks are manufactured using the same high-quality materials used in all King Racing Shocks. MSRP N/A BILSTEIN https://offroad.bilstein.com BILSTEIN M 9200 COILOVER SHOCK Bilstein’s M 9200 Coilover Shock was developed for off-road racing and is available in stroke lengths from 8 to 16 inches, with 46mm or 60mm monotubes, and with multiple valving choices for a variety of applications. Constructed with machined billet aluminum components and featuring a case-hardened 22mm piston rod and 3-stage high temperature seal. Threaded body with dual-rate coilover hardware allows quick spring and preload changes to suit the terrain. Shocks are owner-rebuildable. MSRP varies by specific application. BILSTEIN M 9200 BYPASS SHOCK Bilstein’s M 9200 Bypass Shock is available with stroke lengths from 10 to 18 inches, with 60mm or 70mm bodies, and 3 or 4 tube external bypass offering position-sensitive damping with independent adjustment for rebound and compression. Constructed with machined billet aluminum components, 1 1/8 –inch case-hardened piston rod, and 3-stage high-temperature seal. Shocks are owner-rebuildable. MSRP varies by specific application. BILSTEIN M 7100 and M7100 CLASSIC SHOCKS Bilstein’s M 7100 and M 7100 Classic Shocks feature a 46mm monotube design, high-flow piston, and self-adjusting deflective disc valving. The M7100 Classic offers 5 to 10 inches of travel, while the M 7100 offers 8 to 14 inches of travel, and both are available in multiple lengths and valve settings for a variety of vehicles and uses.
