Minnesotans filled the inaugural PWHL draft board on Sept. 18 in Toronto, with 12 State of Hockey natives selected throughout 15 rounds. That included No. 1 overall pick Taylor Heise, a native of Lake City, who played high school hockey at Red Wing before winning the 2022 Patty Kazmaier Award during a sensational career at the University of Minnesota.
